Aircraft Maintenance Training Academies
OJT
Upon completing the Approved Basic Training Cat B1.1, B2, A, or a Diploma of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering, the next step is to gain the experience needed to become a licensed aircraft engineer. While employment is ideal, it can take time. To help you achieve your goal faster, we offer a pathway to gain the necessary experience efficiently.
Basic Maintenance Experience or famously known as OJT is a hands-on, duration-based program where you can choose between 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, or other durations depending on your training needs. You will be based in selected Part 145 MROs, working alongside real engineers and technicians on real aircraft. All completed tasks can be logged and signed by a Licensed Personnel or PIC (Person-in-charge).
This program is suitable for:
- Part-66/147 graduates needing 2 years of Basic Maintenance Experience.
- Diploma holders needing 3 years of Basic Maintenance Experience.
- Individuals with other qualifications and Part-66 exams who want to gain industry experience to enhance employment opportunities (programs range from 3 to 12 months).
We place trainees in selected Part 145 MROs to gain Basic Maintenance Experience across relevant ATA (Air Transport Association) Chapters, such as ATA 32 Landing Gear and ATA 35 Oxygen. These logbook entries are crucial for applying for your Part-66 Basic License, provided you have completed all Part-66 exams.
Knowledge (exams & training) + Experience (basic maintenance experience) = Licence
